Pittsburgh, PA – May 7, 2024 – East Ohio Valley Railway LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Transtar, LLC, is expanding its rail network an additional 18 miles, through a long-term lease of rail lines in the Powhatan Point, Ohio area. The new operations will extend EOVR’s existing 12.2 mile mainline an additional 16.5 miles to Bellaire, Ohio, with operating rights over Norfolk Southern to Mingo Junction, Ohio for interchange. EOVR will also begin operating over 1.78 miles of the Captina Secondary running west from Powhatan Point. EOVR commences operations over the new routes on June 1, 2024.

As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Transtar, LLC, East Ohio Valley Railroad operates a 12.2-mile railroad in Ohio that interchanges with Norfolk Southern and provides rail switching services for Long Ridge Energy Terminal and the Hannibal Industrial Park located in Hannibal, Ohio.
